The Return of the Voiceover UnConference!

WoVOCon VIII: Allies in Inspiration will be held in Chicago, IL October 18-20 at the Royal Sonesta Chicago River North. And with its arrival in the Windy City, WoVOCon brings back the engagement, learning, and camaraderie of the UnConference format!

What is an UnConference?

An UnConference has many aspects of a regular conference; a schedule, some specific events for all attendees, and even some invited speakers.

The difference is the bulk of the program is not planned ahead of time. Instead, we determine when we all arrive what people want to learn, and who will share from their own knowledge. Because there are no better experts to have around you than your peers in the industry. Among them is a “golden nugget” that you might need.

You likely have one for them!

 

Why an UnConference?

Unconferencing offers smaller groups in more intimate settings. But more importantly, it fosters more sharing between peers, even if the peers have varying levels of experience. No one speaks from above; we’re all on the same level. And there is an immediacy to the format; few attendees have deep, prepared presentations. But all of them will share with you what they know. And this sharing opens new opportunities for friendship and long-term connections.

We at World Voices believe this style of conferencing deserves to be in the voiceover community.
